Swiss real estate

Swiss real estate

Which aspects are important to us with regard to Swiss real estate?

Sustainable building and management of real estate are key aspects of our asset and building management. The energy-efficient renovation of older properties can contribute greatly to the reduction of energy consumption.

Our objective

For several years, we have ensured sustainable building management. Our approach considers the fields of society, economy and environment for all functions and processes. The objective is to generate attractive, risk-optimized return on a long- term basis.

As a major real estate owner, the Zurich Investment Foundation is aligned with the general targets that Switzerland and the EU have determined for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions (reference year 2010):

  1. Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in the real estate portfolio (by 20 percent by 2020)
  2. Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by 100 percent by 2050

What have we achieved?

Our real estate portfolio is on track:

  • The energy consumption of the Swiss real estate of the Zurich Investment Foundation was reduced by 15 percent.
  • We have already been able to reduce carbon emissions by 19 percent

These figures clearly show: We have already done a lot in order to reach the targets.
